Stefan Winterle

born 1976 in Lörrach/ Germany began painting graffiti in 1993 and is a self-taught artist.
He studied business administration from 1998-2001 and has been a freelance artist since 2005.

Stefan Winterle is known for his stencil art. For more than 20 years, he has been using specially produced stencils to create his pictures. Winterle has achieved mastery in this painting technique and attracted attention early on with exhibitions in Europe, the USA, and Australia.

Winterle follows various series of motifs in his paintings. He draws inspiration from urban scenes and impressions from nature in equal measure.
But Winterle is also constantly inspired to create new works by playing with graphic elements and patterns.

His latest body of work is inspired by the four-color model of printing technology and its pointillist aesthetic of reduction and blurring. The CMYK color model is interesting for Winterle because the colors used only mix on the painting surface. It is therefore not necessary to apply each color tone separately, but only the four in the correct mixing ratio. This is particularly advantageous if a separate stencil would otherwise have to be made for each color.

Stefan Winterle

Winterle folgt in seinen Gemälden verschiedenen Motivreihen.
